trying to connect laptop sound card to home cinema system.?
hi,
want to connect my laptop sound card to my pioneer home cinema ,one way i think is a 3.5m plug into the headphone socket and put two phonos into the home cinema,ive seen another cable which might work but i am not sure,its the same 3.5m plug into the headphone socket but with a optical connection ,my home cinema has a optical connection i used to run my x box through it,will it work through that connection ,if it does will i get 5.1 sound or should i stick with th phono connection,my sound card is a realtek hd audio 7.1.
Yes it will work through the optical output of your laptop. You’ll only get 5.1 or 7.1 if the card is capable.
